To prepare the Adobe contest effectively, I’d like to arrange our classes in the next week the following ways.

If you are one of the Adobe’s College Jam participants,

  • you must attend tomorrow’s class for a design review of:
    > App logo
    > App design abstract (150 words) + content check (make sure everything is relevant to the topic of Challenge Brief)
    > Artboards review (UI review): Screen layout designs (UI design reflects UI trends? graphic elements (icons and thematic illustrations look unique?)
    > App design’s flow chat, wireframe, and prototypes
  • You don’t need to attend the Wednesday’s class so that you can concentrate your time and energy on the contest and prepare your project submission to Adobe and New York Times.
  • We don’t meet Adobe on Wednesday. All we do for the Adobe Project on Wednesday (9/22) will be submitting the project and prototypes before the 9/22 deadline (Sep. 22 at 1:00 pm CDT). The jury panel from Adobe and New York Times’ Design team will spend five days to judge all 315 submissions from around the world, then select top ten teams as the final short-list winners and top five teams as the prize winning teams. If your team is fortunate enough to win an award in the College Jam contest, you will receive a notification email from Adobe to inform you and you need to prepare a 3-minute presentation about your project on Sep. 28’s finale event.
  • Before you submit the project to Adobe, please double check the challenge brief’s requirement and be clear how to submit the project correctly.

If you are one of the students to work the course projects on the regular track,

  • please work on your project and treat the class as lab hours at your home. You don’t need to attend the Monday’s class.
  • you must attend the Wednesday’s class for preparing a design review of respective project in each of my classes.
