DESIGNRUSH 2021 Global Student Design Competition
DesignRush 2021 Information Sheet

DESIGNRUSH launched a creative competition to recognize the emerging talent, exposing students to the leading global agencies and prospective employers. Each nominated student can participate with one artwork per category (logo, graphic design, and UX design). This was a great opportunity for UTRGV students to showcase their abilities and creativity and promote their skills to over 7,500 design agencies interested in hiring great talents.

Eligibility for Joining the DesignRush Global Student Competition
Submitted works are eligible to join the DesignRush 2021 Global Student Competition and receive awards if the student and submitted work meet the following criteria.

  1. At least three high quality design works (a logo design, a graphic design, and a UX design) created by a UTRGV student who enrolled classes in 2019 and 2020 and created works between January 2019 and February 2021. Submitted works must be nominated by the UTRGV representative, graphic design program coordinator, and any graphic design faculty member in the UTRGV School of Art & Design.
  2. Except local design awards, the entry/submitted work has never received any design awards in any regional, national, or international level competitions in 2019 and 2020.

DESIGNRUSH have selected Lorei Lopez, Jovanna Mireles, Alexis Flores, Gabriela C Torres, Noemi Garcia and Osbel Olivares as the best emerging design talents among thousands of participants.

  • Lorei Lopez has been selected as the #2 best (UI) designer and #2 in overall category
  • Jovanna Mireles has been selected as the #3 best (UI) designer
  • Alexis Flores has been selected as the #5 best (UI) designer and #2 best (logo) designer

DESIGNRUSH will promote an article to our 9,000 agency decision makers on April 28. They will also send out a press release via Yahoo! Finance and Business Insider, reaching an audience of 20 million readers. This is a great opportunity to boost students’ employability and strengthen UTRGV’s reputation.
