All students are required to upload their project work to Flickr as part of course participation, peer review, and presentation.
Account Responsibility
Students must create and maintain their own Flickr account and follow all platform guidelines and terms of service.
Use Academic Language
All uploads must clearly state that the work is for educational purposes only.
Required statement:
“This work is created for educational purposes only as part of a student design project. It is not intended for commercial use.”
Avoid Restricted Content
Do not upload:
- Copyrighted materials without permission
- Commercial or branded content presented as official work
- Inappropriate or sensitive imagery
Tagging and Description
Use clear, neutral tags. Avoid spam-like, misleading, or excessive tagging. Focus on concept, process, and learning outcomes.
Account Safety
To reduce risk of restriction:
- Avoid rapid bulk uploads
- Avoid repetitive or automated behavior
- Verify your email and maintain normal account activity
Backup Requirement
Always keep backups of your work (Behance, Google Drive, or local storage). You are responsible for your work even if your account is restricted.
If Account Is Restricted or Banned (IMPORTANT)
If your Flickr account is locked, suspended, or banned
- Go to Flickr Help Center:
https://www.flickrhelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - Submit a request and explain:
- You are a university student
- The work is part of a class assignment
- It is non-commercial and educational
- Be polite and clear in your message
- Do not create multiple new accounts immediately
- Submit an appeal through Flickr’s official account recovery/support system
- Contact the instructor immediately
- Provide an alternative submission link (e.g., Behance) to meet deadlines
- You are still responsible for course submission regardless of account status
Failure to follow these guidelines may affect participation and grading later. All work uploaded to Behance is considered non-commercial academic work. A Behance usage policy will be added to each course syllabus later.
