Special Entry Guidelines
- All entries must be digital. Physical submissions will not be accepted.
- Do not submit an online copy or link with any personal identification.
For example. If you submit a digital copy (.jpg) of your work, do not say you have an online component, too if that is only going to be exactly the same static image. Further, the links often are to the student’s portfolios and all their other work is there and their names. The only time online/web based things should be included is if it is interactive or video or animation. - Only links that do not reveal your personal identification may be provided.
- If your layout includes a QR code that links to your Behance or other social media profiles, ensure no personal identification is accessible. To maintain an unbiased judging process, follow these recommendations for interactive entries:
• Profile Image: Temporarily replace your profile image with a generic one. You may revert to your original image after June 30, 2026.
• Account Name: Change your Behance account name to a nickname that does not reveal your real name. Restore your actual name after June 30, 2026.
• Project Title: Avoid using real names in project titles to prevent personal identification in URLs. Entries with identifiable names may be disqualified.
ABOUT THE AMERICAN ADVERTISING AWARDS
The American Advertising Awards, home of the ADDY® Award, is one of the industry’s largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through competitions offered through local AAF clubs. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising.
Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards – recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards. Entry into your local Ad Club competition is the first step toward winning a national ADDY.
Students
The AAF Student American Advertising Awards Competition, sponsored by the AAF and National Ad 2, is a unique national awards program designed especially for college students. Work entered at your local level can move up to the regional and national judging, just like the work entered by professionals across the country.
Applicants must be enrolled full or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Student interns are eligible to enter.
Submit work developed specifically for this competition or from previous projects or student contests (work must be created while the entrant is a student not employed in the advertising industry).
