Shoreham is a quaint village located in the English countryside, ideal for a scenic and tranquil escape. Situated in Kent, this small town serves as the starting point for a picturesque walk along the Darent River footpath, stretching from Shoreham to Eynsford, covering approximately 3.1 miles. The route meanders through lush landscapes, including charming lavender fields. During the walk, participants will have the opportunity to visit Castle Farm, located near the Redmans Lane entry, and view the historic Lullingstone Castle from the outside. Guided by Caroline Miles, this excursion offers a serene experience of the local countryside and its notable sights.


English Countryside Walk (bring snacks and water)

  1. Faculty will travel with students to Shoreham station and meet Caroline Miles.
  2. Caroline Miles will lead group on a walk from Shoreham to Eynsford (3.1 miles). We will follow the Darent river footpath from Shoreham to Eynsford which goes past some of the lavender fields.
  3. We will stop at Castle Farm at the Redmans Lane entry.
  4. Go by Lullingstone castle and see it from the outside.

Rest and eat something in Eynsford by the river before returning to London.
