Signs, systems, and letterforms represent our behaviors, beliefs, and institutions. They warn of hazards, guide us, offer choices, and symbolize organizations. Despite our diverse religious, political, and cultural backgrounds, these visual tools can unite humanity through clear communication.
Design students enhance this process by refining existing symbols and creating new ones, building a universal visual language that is accessible to all. To evaluate their learning and creativity, I encouraged students in my ARTS-4334 Advanced Graphic Design class to submit their first project, Brand Identity Design, to the UDA Logo Design 2024 competition.
