Hello Students,

UTRGV strives to offer diverse learning experiences, so we encourage you to participate in our Study Abroad Programs.  By taking on this new opportunity, you can experience new places and cultures, make lifelong friends from around the world, and gain a global perspective–while earning credits toward your degree!

It will also allow you to develop highly valued skills such as increasing your intercultural communication, being exposed to new foreign languages, and becoming more marketable once you start seeking professional opportunities.

Students can earn up to 3 academic credits while studying in cities like London, Paris, Prague, or many others. All study abroad program courses are taught by our professors and are open to all UTRGV students.

Are you in need of funding to study abroad? Please take advantage of the following financial resources:

  • Apply for the International Education Scholarship! The application deadline is March 1, 2023; however, this scholarship is based on a first-come, first-served. So apply as soon as you can!

o   To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a UTRGV student.
  • If you are an undergraduate student, you must have completed 30 credit hours and have a current GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • If you are a graduate student, you must have completed 9 credit hours and have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Gilman Scholarship. We are excited to walk you through the Gilman Scholarship application process and provide information that will make your application more competitive. The deadline to apply is March 9, 2023, 11:59 PT.
  • Sign up for our writing workshops below:

o   Thursday, February 23rd : 09:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.

o   Thursday, February 23rd : 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
