There will be a college-wide announcement going out, but I wanted to personal congratulate and thank you and all of the graphic design students for participating and in your case, becoming finalists, in the Adobe UT jam. Your participation made a great impression on the leadership at Adobe and, of course, your respective creative output has everyone excited. Given our future path of building the graphic design program, hiring more faculty, and beginning a master’s degree in UX/UI, this event has repercussions far beyond the simple fact of your being a part of it. All of you demonstrated something we all know, that UTRGV can compete with the best and that our students deserve better programs and more opportunities. You have all helped to bring this to the attention of your peers outside the University, the University itself, and the community and we are all very proud of you. Your professors, your director, President Bailey, and Provost Arney (and I, of course) have all expressed their congratulations and pride.
