Graphic Design team is thrilled to share with you great news about our Graphic Design students’ success at Regional level competition of the American Advertising Awards. Four School of Art students have received the regional awards. Please join us in congratulating them on their achievements. Monica Lugo and Ariadny Balderas, Gold student ADDY winners of AAF-RGV local competition, won the Gold student ADDY Awards at the District 10 regional level competition again on March 27, 2019. Both entries have already been advanced to the national level of competition.
Here is the list of District 10 student winners of American Advertising Awards (ADDY Awards) from three UTRGV Graphic Design students and one School of Art’s graduate student.

Emily Galvan – Cotton Magazine – Silver Student ADDY Regional
Sara Longoria – Letter to Ozzy – Bronze Student ADDY Regional
It was the fourth year that UTRGV Graphic Design students joined the American Advertising Awards annual competition, starting from American Advertising Federation’s local club competition. The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club (Ad Club) competitions across the nation. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
This year, UTRGV Graphic Design students won twenty-nine student ADDY awards at the local level competition on February 3, 2019, including the Best of Show Award, the Special Judges Award, nine Gold Student ADDY Awards, and eighteen Silver Student ADDY Awards. The regional award result was announced on March 27, 2019 by AAF District 10 regional club. UTRGV students competed with other local winners from more than 17 institutions in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas including UT other components.
