Information About Senior Test

Posted by: Ping

Art majors,

The Praxis II Art: Content Knowledge (5134) exam has been designated as your Senior Test by the Art faculty. The exam is a national computer-based exam and is only offered during specific testing windows set by the testing company throughout the year. Truman’s computer-based testing center is open during these testing windows but we have a limited number of seats and we cannot “save” the seats for Truman students.

The testing windows this semester for the Praxis II Art: Content Knowledge (5134) exam are:

  • September 9 – 20, 2014
  • October 6 – 18, 2014
  • November 3 – 15, 2014

To register for the exam, you must go online at www.ets.org/praxis/register and create your “My Praxis Account”. Payment is due at the time of registration and the cost is $115. Once you take the test and provide the Assessment & Testing Office a copy of your scores, you will be reimbursed for the $115 exam cost and will be cleared to graduate. Your scores should be accessible online approximately 2-3 weeks after the testing date. If you cannot pay for the exam upfront, please contact the Assessment & Testing Office immediately. A limited number of fee waivers from ETS are available for students who meet eligibility requirements. Information about the waiver is available on page 8 of the 2014-15 Praxis Series Bulletin which can be downloaded from the Quick Links listed on the right side of the Praxis website page at www.ets.org/praxis.

If you require special accommodations due to a disability or health-related need, reasonable accommodations can be granted, however, you must register by mail through ETS and have your accommodations approved prior to testing. The 2014-15 Bulletin Supplement for Test Takers with Disabilities or Health-Related Needs contains the contact information, registration procedures, and forms needed. To download the Supplement, visit www.ets.org/praxis/register/disabilities and allow at least 3 weeks for processing.

ID requirements depend on your country of citizenship and where you plan to test. Detailed information is provided in the 2014-15 Praxis Series Bulletin, but in general if you are testing in your country of citizenship a Driver’s License or Passport should work. If you are testing outside your country of citizenship, a Passport written in English-language letters is required to test. On your test day, you must provide an original primary ID that is valid, bears a signature and recent photograph, and bears the test taker’s full name and matches your name exactly as you entered it when you registered.

If you have questions, contact the Assessment & Testing Office. If you are pursuing multiple majors, you need to take the required senior test for each major.

Best wishes for a successful senior year at Truman!
