Cross Connections is an international exchange program and exhibition in Visual Communications. The exhibition was initiated in 2008 and held in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013 in more than fifteen universities from around the world. Cross Connections 2018 International Exhibition of Design & Illustration is a global collaborative project and an invitational exhibition and juried competition. The exhibition promotes creativity, innovation, and the trends of international visual communication design and aims to inspire and educate through active global engagement.
From 2008 to 2018, the participating institutions to join the Cross Connections exhibitions were: The University of Texas-Arlington; The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; School of The Art Institute of Chicago; Truman State University; China Central Academy of Fine Arts; China Luxun Academy of Fine Arts; Shanghai University; Ming Chuan University; National Design Institute at Moscow; Sint-Lucas Ghent Belgium; Trier University of Applied Sciences Germany, National School of Fine Arts Mexico, Autonomous University of the State of Morelos; University of Pretoria South Africa, University of Southern Mississippi, and University of South Alabama.
The exhibitions have been held at UT Arlington campus, UTRGV’s Edinburg campus, NDI's Moscow campus, LUCA' Ghent campus, TSU’s Kirksville campus, CAFA’s campus, LAFA’s campus, Shanghai University’s main campus, MCU's Taoyuan campus, UAST's Trier campus, ENAP’s Mexico City campus, UAEM's Morelos's campus, USM's Hattiesburg campus, USA's Mobile campus, and Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts.
