Despite being known for beach tourism Spain is a country of large geographic diversity featuring lush meadows, green valleys, hills and snowy mountains in the North to almost desert regions in the South. SEVILLE

Welcome to one of the most charming cities of Spain. Seville is the capital city of Andalusia. Located in the South of Spain Seville, or Sevilla in Spanish, is one of the largest Spanish cities with over 700,000 inhabitants. It occupied the valley of the Guadalquivir river, with 60 navigable kilometers, which was an important harbor during the Spanish conquest of the American continent. Seville’s rich history has left the city stuffed with innumerable monuments like the Cathedral (third largest in the world), the Giralda tower, the palace of the Reales Alcazares, the Barrio of Santa Cruz, the Maestranza bullfighting ring, and the passionate Flamenco dance preformed in caves of the mountains.

SANTANDER

Santander is the main city of Cantabria, with around 185,000 inhabitants, that spreads around the bay. There are several beaches and harbors limiting the city on the northern side, towards the southern part you’ll find the old city center and a bit further the green mountains. In the 19th century the city was a renowned otourist resort for Spanish politicians, aristocrats, and much of the upper class. The city stil keeps wonderful palaces and promenades, a bay type architecture with white buildings, old cafes, and its famous casino. Besides its appeal as a holiday resort, the city is becoming an important center for congresses and conferences. Additionally, the whole region of Cantabria has a wide range of opportunites and excursions for exploring nature with beautiful mountains, prehistoric sites, sky resorts, beautiful villages, world heritage sites plus a fantastic zoo!

SALAMANCA

Salamanca is part of the Spanish region known as “Castilla y Leon” located in the western part of Spain right besides the border with Portugal. Salamanca is a medium size city (170,000 inhabitants) famous for its culture and student atmosphere. In fact, the University of Salamanca is said to be the third oldests university in Europe, founded in 1218. Salamanca is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in all of Spain and has a booming tourist industry. It is also Salamanca where the purest Spanish is spoken which makes the city a popular destination for students wanting to learn Spanish.

MADRID

Madrid is the capital city of Spain, located right in the center of the Iberian Peninsula. It is the seat to the Spanish government institutions and the city residence of the Spanish Royal family. Madrid is the largest Spanish city with more than 3 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area. This large city has all kinds of interesting things to do and to see during the day including the Prado and Reina Sofia art museums, shopping centers, theaters, El Parque Retrio, and operas plus a very busy night life.

CORDOBA

It comes as little surprise that Cordoba has been one of the few places where European history has actually seen Muslims, Jews and Christians living more or less happily together. Here, history can be found at every street corner and it is no surprise that since 1994 it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The main touristic feature, the Mezquita, is a unique structure which, on its own, could tell the whole story of the city. In addition, located in the city is the Juderia, the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Episcopal Palace, the Roman Bridge, the Torre de Calahorra, the city walls, the Plaza del Potro, the Albolafia Mill and the many hidden patios of old town.

TOLEDO

Toledo is a quaint little town in the center of Spain. It's location is up on top of a hill and surrounded by a river whichs makes it a very idyllic setting. It is quiet and relaxed with very narrow and winding streets. It is most famous for being a place of relative peace throughout history where Christians, Jews, and Muslims all lived with religious freedom harmoniously and the effectds of this relationship can still be seen today in the architecture of the city. It is also the birthplace of El Greco, a famous Spanish artist.
