MEAT TASTING

Spain is known for it's jamon. It is a staple at every meal and is a food completely unique to this region of the world. So what better way to get to know a culuture than to get to know its food! Almost every city has some sort of meat tasting you can go and explore to try all the different types of jamon and decide which flavor is your favorite. For the adventerous eaters there is also things like frog legs and kangaroo tounge to try as well.



FLAMENCO SHOW

In the Spanish culture dance is like a religion and each region has its own particular dance but one of the most well known and unique is flamenco. This dance includes rapid tapping of feet and lots of chanting wiht quick movements in a small contained area. It is acompanied by a simple guitar and maybe one other instrument but these simple aspects create a transfixing and hypnotic environment where you will be amazed by the complexity of the movements.

VISIT A MUSEUM

From art to history to science Spain is a country with an enlightened populus and the museums are pletiful. Madrid is home to two of the most famous art museums in the world, the Prado and the Reina Sofia. These include great works from artists like Pacasso, Velazquez, Dali, and many more. What better way to get a sense of the culture than by examining the past ans wehre the people came from.





TOUR A CASTLE

Spain provides a unique opportunity in that there are actually several standing castles spread throughout the country. It is possible to go and tour a castle and see where people actually lived and worked centuries ago. It is such a surreal experience to image life long ago and in some cases to see the reminants of great batttles and fortresses.
