The town of Levoca is home to many historical and religious attractions, however the most famous of them is the St. Apostle Altar of the Church of St. Jacob. The altar is the largest wooden altar in the world, and was carved by Levoca’s own Master Paul, a wood carver whose work can be seen all over the town. The altar is one of the most beautiful religious monuments in Slovakia, and is decorated entirely with medieval era artwork.
