Dreamweaver Workbook - Project Definition

The goal of producing the web site is to learn about Adobe Dreamweaver CC and other related applications by directly working in the software and learning its working process. The final goal of the project is to create a resource reference for the tools, functionality and design potential for creating web pages with strong aesthetic design and functional values.

Adobe Dreamweaver is a premier website builder software, and has been the industry leader in web site development. Dreamweaver CC provides support for CSS Designer and CSS Transitions, Edge Animation, Web Fonts, Fluid Grid Layouts, jQuery Mobile Swatches, PhoneGap Build Panel, and HTML5 Audio/Video. It also provides support for Enhanced Responsive Design, Mobile App Design, and Enhanced jQuery. Dreamweaver CC provides an intuitive visual interface for website creation and editing. It offers up-to-date compatibility with web standards as well as first-class support for HTML5/CSS3 and jQuery.

Project Working Process
In the process of building the website, you will learn the following

  • To create web pages by using Adobe Dreamweaver
  • To learn web site construction and management
  • To learn cascading style sheets (CSS3) in the Dreamweaver CC environment
  • To learn other related software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Edge Animate, and Fireworks that assist in building web pages
  • To upload the Dreamweaver Workbook project to your personal web space

Project Requirement

  1. Create a splash page "index.html" and an Edge Animate composition, and insert the composition into the page.
  2. Create an Edge Animate composition for the header banner of home page.
  3. Create a main navigation system, and CSS3 gradient buttons with shadows.
    (if you prefer to use Dreamweaver’s spry menu bar, or CSS3 menu for the main navigation system, you need to apply the property of border-radius to the main navigation buttons.)
  4. Create an animated gif in Photoshop and a svg element in Illustrator for one of the image pages.
  5. Create other graphic elements in Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, and Fireworks.
  6. Create a sub-nav spry menu bar and a jump menu in Dreamweaver.
  7. Create a home page, six body pages, and a series of sub-pages via Dreamweaver with HTML5 and CSS for the project.
  8. Insert an Edge Animate composition and an HTML5 Video in Dreamweaver.
  9. Create a total of twenty-eight pages for the entire website.
