The rules of choosing artist and building groups for Art-203 Collaborative Project | Spring 2015

Posted by: Ping

Hello Class:

Just like what I mentioned in our class before, your homework during the weekend is to choose your favorite artist for your group presentation. Each group is required to write 10 to 15 pages paper in Word format and present the most important part together with artwork images in PowerPoint during and outside the class. The duration of presentation for each group is about 15 minutes.

Here is the rules of choosing artists and building groups:

  1. Each student get one chance to draw a sequence number for choosing his/her favorite artist. The number one student will start choosing his/her favorite artist first.
  2. Each artist can only be chosen by three times. For example, if Vincent van Gogh has been chosen three times by three students before you already, you have to choose another artist. I will suggest you to prepare your top three artists in advance.
  3. Students who choosing the same artist will be grouped together.
  4. If three students choose three different artists but those artists belong to the same school, the three students could be grouped together and further discuss which artist will be chosen eventually for the group.
  5. The students may be grouped together if students’ choices belong to different schools or periods, then students need to discuss further for choosing another artist.
  6. Each group needs to designate a group facilitator, and update me on Wednesday.

Best,
Ping
