Important Study Abroad Registration Agreement

Posted by: Ping

Dear Students,

As you are preparing for your Summer Interim 2014 pre-enrollment, we want to make you aware of a new Registration Agreement that must be electronically signed through TruView prior to enrollment. The ‘Registration Agreement’ can be found on TruView, Student Tab, Registration section and click on ‘Registration Agreement’.  You will need to read it, click ‘Yes’ to the ‘I agree’ statement and then click ‘Submit’ before you enroll in Summer Interim 2014 classes. You can check your ‘Registration Status’ once this is done to be sure this requirement has been met and also check on any other items that may need your attention prior to enrolling.  This agreement is something that will need to be agreed to each semester starting Spring 2014.

This type of registration agreement is common among universities. The purpose of this agreement is to allow the University to charge your account for collection costs if your account is turned over to an outside collection agency. We don’t use collection agencies for currently enrolled students, but if a student leaves Truman owing a balance and we are unable to collect it through our Student Account Office, we send it to an outside agency for collection. The outside collection agency charges between 21-29% of the amount collect as a fee. Currently, Truman pays this fee, but with the new Registration Agreement, the fee would be assessed to the former student owing the debt.

Our recommendation is for you to review the Registration Agreement prior to your registration time and contact the Student Accounts office at 660-785-4074 or at staccts@truman.edu if you have any questions regarding the agreement.

Please complete this registration agreement as soon as possible.
